THE DAY OF VALOR
Araw ng Kagitingan, also known as Bataan Day, is a national holiday in Philippines, and it is observed on April 9 each year, it is fundamentally about Bataan and Corregidor, and nowadays we keep in mind those occasions that took put 76 years back. The Day of Valor is an opportunity for Filipinos nowadays, and for Filipinos tomorrow, to remember minutes of our past, of quality and mettle against overpowering chances, and to call upon that strength once more in the event that needed be.
These
are stories not just of warriors in combat, but of conventional Filipinos doing
exceptional achievements. However don't forget that valor isn't displayed as it
were in times of real war. Some of the time, the risk is in times of peace.
Thus we review not just Bataan and Corregidor,
but the revolts against Spain and the Philippine Revolution, the repulsing of a
Dutch armada and Chinese privateers, the resistance against the British
trespassers, the Philippine-American War, the other fights of the Moment World
War on Philippine land, and the heroes and casualties amid the military law
era.
Within
the same way the tragedies of Bataan and Corregidor need not have happened had
we been more mindful and way better arranged, numerous of the divisive issues
confronting us nowadays (the dangers against our democratic institutions,
national patrimony, excellencies, the war against memory, our exceptionally
future as a country ) tell us the urgent
need for constant vigilance, mettle within the confront of duplicity and open
condemnation, and to never disregard the costs of failure.
We never know the quality of someone
else's life, though we seldom resist the temptation to assume and pass judgement.
